My name is Berkan Akman and I am a photography instructor located in Miami, Florida. Since 2004 I have been following my passion to teach photography to all inspiring photographers.

The classes are designed from beginner level all the way to advanced photography techniques.  The classes are designed to be simple, straight forward with lots of hands on practice and demonstrations. Small class sizes allow for individual attention in order for students to learn at their own pace and obtain mastery.

These classes are for photography enthusiast, parents wanting to take better pictures of their children, and professionals seeking to master their skills. The class atmosphere is fun, engaging and light hearted creating camaraderie among students.

I enjoyed taking pictures and had an eye for it. But I didn’t really understand the fundamentals of photography. I really didn’t use or understand all that my camera was capable of doing. In fact, I did very little fiddling with the shutter and aperture. After taking some of the photography classes that Berkan offered, I now understand what those words mean. Not only that, I learned about things that my camera could do that I had no idea it could do. Berkan is very educated and knowledgeable about photography. He not only explains things throughly but demonstrates them too. I would recommend him to anyone seeking to learn photography and become a better photographer.

I was very pleased with your Basic Photography course. The class instruction and handout materials were easy to follow. My class of six was diverse; from amateur to aspiring wedding photographers. All expressed an interest to attend your advanced courses. Thank you for giving me the courage to move from the “green box” automatic setting to “M” (Manual) on my digital camera. I have dabbled in photography for over 20 years, but never had anyone explain how to make aperture, shutter speed and ISO work together in harmony to result in great pictures. I had recently purchased a new Canon EOS XTi digital camera and my goal was to be able to capture memorable shots of my children and sunsets.
